What Does It Mean to Follow Jesus?
It means you’re tired of trying to figure it all out on your own. This is the first step towards a new life! It’s as easy as saying, “Jesus, I believe in You. I know I am a sinner and that You paid the price for my sins.”
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
Transformation is His job.
Jesus provides a new way of doing things! We can’t do anything to make God love us more, and we can’t undo or do anything to hinder God’s love for us because His love never ends.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4-5
It’s just about taking the next step.
All you need to focus on is doing what’s next. Yes, we are immediately granted new life when we place our trust in Jesus, but transformation is a series of steps. Jesus has given you a new life, a full life, and over time our true identity will be revealed as we walk with Him. God isn’t surprised when you mess up. He knows you will, and that’s why He’s saved you! God has given us the Holy Spirit to walk with us and guide us as we take our next steps.
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
